Seasonal Snowy Greetings to you all! Firstly, my sincere apologies for the very long delay since my last post way back in October. I have been doing a lot of 'self-work' since then, a large part of which, I now realise, was shedding past programming. This, as you can imagine, went back a very long way, as it does with all of us!

Last Hogmanay I went completely teetotal. Alchohol and healing/psychic work do not tend to marry well but experience had also taught me that, for an exorcist, this is a definite no-no.

Having been brought up in a hotel, alchohol had always been part of my life and now, 35 fun-filled years {and a few casks!} later I had decided to totally detox.

Now firstly, let me say that I've always despised reformed letchers, so this is post is not a sermon. I've always loved good wine and various liquors-I'd just decided 7 months before turning 50 that that was it for me.

You may ask yourself:

Will I miss it? Honestly?... strangely, and surprisingly for me, not at all.

Has it enhanced my psychic/healing work?....Beyond my wildest dreams.

Will I feel any better?....Be prepared for a lifetime of 'stuff' you've suppressed coming out, mentally, physically and spiritually over some months and wade through it-you'll come out the other end, and you'll be 'as a child again' a clean, clear , pure beam of lightness!

Luisa's studio open for visitors

Saturday is the start of year 3 of Perthshire Open Studios! Founded in 2008 by my partner, Luisa Ramazzotti, this event has grown almost exponentially to include artists and makers from all over Perthshire opening their doors to the public from 11th-19th September. People will have the opportunity to see everything from woodturning, jewellery, soapmaking, printing, glass, ceramics and textiles to various painting techniques and disciplines. {perthshireopenstudios.com}

On the spiritual front, I have been busy [thus the too-long delay in posting an up-to-date blog!]. The Scottish Healing Centre is running Level 2 in Advanced Healing Techniques at Ethereal Light at The Wellgate Centre in Dundee 0n Sun 19th September 1130 till 1700.

I intend to re-explore the more earth-centered {Gaia} theme of nature soon-just require to get busy with the camera again.

Lunga on cherry blossom

This is Lunga, our wee dachshund, captured at a daft angle. She's quite photogenic as you can see and full of love. She is very sociable and especially enjoys talking to bees and butterflies whom she doesn't understand, but tries to strike up a rapport with them by barking at them. Large beetles also enjoy Lunga's affections, at least up to the point when she can't contain her enthusiasm any longer and absorbs them into her energy field by lovingly eating them. Occasionally, we rescue toads and baby rabbits from the same passionate fate as her appetite seems to know no bounds, extending even to slugs, deer poo [a favourite], horse and cow manure, rabbit droppings and...we also keep chickens! It's hard to believe, I know, that lurking beneath that playful, cute, fluffy countenance is the heart of a ruthless toilet ferret who will stop at nothing to access the most disgusting fare imaginable and consume it with such manic speed and relish as to make you wince. But she is rather cute...don't you think?

Ok, I know it's been a while since I last posted anything sensible {2nd August}. I turned 50 on August the 5th and Luisa organised a big party for me, complete with an ex-Black Watch Piper, so everybody had a few large drams to the tune of 'Heilan Laddie' The Black Bear' 'Farewell to the Rock' etc. All in all a very Scottish celebration. Since then it's been very busy--The McNeill-Wilkie Clinic is now 'The Scottish Healing Centre' and we've just run two capacity workshops in Cleansing, Clearing and Psychic Protection and Advanced Healing Techniques level 1 at Cat McGillvery's wonderful holistic shop and therapy room at ETHEREAL LIGHT in The Wellgate, Dundee. The next workshop is Advanced Healing Techniques level 2 on Sun 19th Sept 1130 till 1700 [full details and costs on Cat's website]. A huge thankyou goes to Phil Brammer of IVY COTTAGE INDUSTRIES for all his help in keeping me to time and procuring good, healthy scotch pies and doughnuts to help me put on some unnecessary weight!

This is Luisa and I inspecting each other's new 'one-size-fits-all' plastic dentures which we ordered online from Tibet. They come quite soft and malleable in a curious sticky gum which needs to be soaked overnight in petrol to remove any traces of negative energies imbued by frustrated exploited workers. It is very important to insert the dentures correctly the right way up at the first attempt otherwise you have to chew on your tongue to make it soft again. I will attempt to post a proper sensible blog soon.

I've been so busy that my blogging discipline has been blown away in the draught created by my frenetic rush to get nowhere in particular. This is a sorry state of affairs and urgently needs addressing as it's really all about personal discipline, an area I am normally strong in-actually that's rubbish; in fact I am so seduced by my own self-created transient delusions of efficiency that I fail to notice the subtle but obvious signs that Gordy is losing the plot-namely, posting another dull photo of a plant I can't remember the name of, and then wittering on about my rapidly deteriorating state of mind. I really must take some proper interesting photos that people whom have actually got a life take and then say something of interest, hopefully....soon.

Pinewood Path

Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last post-very busy time lately. This is one of Lunga's favourite walks. As a wee dachshund she loves woodlands and this part of the path is lovely when the sunlight casts a dappled kaleidescope of various greens on the bracken and grass.

She is currently up in Wick at the very north end of Scotland with my partner, Luisa, who is on a tour of places she has never visited before. It's very different scenery up there and should give her lots of inspiration for her painting and drawing. I've been teaching Aqua-aerobics in Dunkeld since February at Dunkeld House and have around 30 in my Tuesday and Thursday classes. I give them a Reiki colour meditation as they lie on their floats at the end of the session in the warm water-wish I had a pool at home 'cos it certainly seems to chill them out!

I'll maybe post you a photo of them bobbing about totally zonked, as it makes me feel sleepy just watching them!

Sunlight on Ferns

Ferns are some of the oldest plants on our planet. Dating back millions of years, fossilised examples have been discovered almost identical to the species we find now. It's amazing to think that they pre-date the age of dinosaurs! We humans are a relatively recent arrival in relation to these ancient residents and that thought is always worth keeping in mind. Reverence for nature in all her forms is a quality all of us would do well to cultivate-it's good for us in so many ways, as nature sustains and heals all of us in return for our care for her.

A seat in silence by the old Scots Pine

There is a woodland not far from us where we walk Lunga, our wee dachshund. About halfway round the route there is a turn in the path where there is a memorial seat beside an old Scots Pine. As you can see, it sits beside a big, open green field and in the early evening it is very quiet and peaceful. Often, when I am running healing courses and workshops, I am asked about meditation-when to do it, how to do it, how often to do it and how long to do it!? Me not know.

To me, meditation is different things to many people but I'm a simple soul; I love trees-they heal us with love just by being near them, they give us the oxygen we breathe, these beautiful telegraph poles to God-They demonstrate eternal grace and even die standing up. Try this 'meditation' sometime-go sit in nature and JUST BE for a while and then you will truly discover for yourself that nowhere is closer to the heart of God than in her wild garden.

Purple Rhododendron

The Rhododendron is not actually a native species of the British Isles. It was introduced by the Victorians to these islands and spread rapidly everywhere. The Victorians were great travellers and explorers and introduced many varieties of exotic species to Britain. Unfortunately, some of these incomers of the plant world were very competitive, often being used to different conditions and therefore encountered little 'resistance' from native species-they literally took over unless they were controlled! One such plant was the rhododendron, often used initially to decorate and screen the driveways to opulent country residences. However, I rather like them and think you will agree that this particular purple flower is really attractive!

Lunga {"Loong-ga"-Italian for 'long'} has her favourite place to fluff-out. For reasons known only to her, she likes to stop halfway up the stairs. It reminds me of the words in that lovely wee song from The Muppet Show..."Halfway up the stairs is a stair where I sit.. There isn't any other stair quite like it.. It's not at the bottom, and it's not at the top, so this is the stair where I always stop". Anyway, her stare says it's her stair if you'll pardon the pun.{cringe}

Tuscan beach sunset

Sit awhile with me and we'll watch the sun go down together. You're looking out across the sandy beach with a light, still, warm breeze, gently whisking the downy hairs on your face. The sand is stuck to your furry feet like dried sparkly powder glistening in the evening light. Your skin feels slightly tight from the salt water and you can't wipe the grin off your muzzle as your soul drinks in this scene, committing every moment between blinks to your memory forever. We've had a great day Puppy Dog!

I've really got nothing to say about this photo except that, when I was walking past the tree,

It wasn't primarily the flowers which attracted me-it was the browny red wee stalks contrasting with the greyish branches and green grass. I just liked that; hope that you do too.

The 3rd eye chakra is situated just above and between the eyes. This chakra regulates the central nervous system and relates to spiritual knowledge, psychic intuition, abilities and understanding. I came across this delightful scene whilst wandering through mixed woodland near our neighbour's farm. It looked to me so naturally balanced that I just had to take a piccy as it was deep in the woods and certainly hadn't been specially landscaped to please human eyes. I asked permission from the nature spirits to capture the image so that I could share it with all of you, some of whom maybe can't get out into nature, perhaps through disability, illness or opportunity...so this is a gift from the Scottish Faeries especially for YOU dear friend ...your own sacred wee space to visit whenever you wish. Faeries belong to the Angelic realm, so , when you relax and gaze into the picture, become aware of your fluttery friends around you and know that you are grandly loved wherever you are.

I thought I'd get away from crystals for a wee while, much though I love them. This coastal view kind of inspired me to re-touch on the subject of perspective and how important it is in colouring our views of life's path as it unfolds. At a time of great changes on our planet, it can sometimes be comforting to look to nature for solidity and 'foreverness'. This picture, for us , perhaps encapsulates that feeling-'rock solid' cliffs standing steadfast against the eternal buffeting of the vast , immutable ocean. The fresh water falling endlessly down the cliff into the sea, it's sparkly translucence accentuating the hardened timelessness of the stone face -all of this framed by a horizon only ever altered in colour and tone by the changes in weather. All of this can aid us in freeing ourselves of earthly ties and material concerns, reminding us that our stay on this earth in relation to all this 'stuff' is transient indeed-a healthy, liberating and much desired change in perspective!

Firstly, my sincere apologies to everyone for such a long absence!! It's been five weeks or so since my last post. I've been away here and there, most recently in Norway where I was running a healing clinic at Figgjo near Stavanger. I saw 29 people over 3 days and must admit that, by the end of the schedule, I was ready for a wee rest and change of scene. Luisa came to assist with the admin and, as she is also a Colour Therapist and Reiki Master, proved invaluable in processing all the client information as people arrived and registered. A very special thanks goes to our host, Irene Isaksen, for all her wonderful hospitality, Norwegian home cooking and translating skills!

I've posted this pic again because Citrine {The 'Cuddly Stone'} is the crystal par excellence for those of you seeking Love, Wealth and Health. It absorbs, transmutes, dissipates and grounds negative energy. In addition, being a stone of the divine, it never needs cleansing or charging. Wear one and keep a wee piece in your wallet, purse or cash box!

Firstly, apologies for not posting for a while but things have been very busy clinic-wise.

Whilst I love my healing work, it is a continuously challenging vocation, and this past week has reminded me that there is still a great deal I have to learn. Of course we never stop learning, but sometimes something comes along that we think we can fix, based on previous experience, only to realise it's 'back to the drawing board' time. Actually no bad thing really as it keeps in check the old enemy-our own ego!

The above photo is a good reminder that people are like flowers-they may seem very similar in the many ways they appear to us, but, observed closely, there are each unique-a fact worth remembering.

Woodland Fairy Knoll

I'm off to Norway soon, where I've been invited back to initiate people into the healing system that I practice. Over there they have a rich history of nature magic with Trolls, in particular, featuring in their children's favourite fairy stories. I don't know much about Trolls but I understand they can be rather tricky customers, a bit like our Goblins. Of course, these are just names for nature spirits who can be both positive and negative in their energy characteristics. Fairies, however, actually belong to the Angelic Realm and the above mound is exactly the sort of place that you might find them-approach quietly, respectfully and then be very still. Gaze, rather than look, at the knoll and you may be rewarded by a materialisation as they make themselves visible to you!

This is Lunga looking at something that she can see but we can't. She's 18 months old now and won't be a 'puppy' for long. Folk are already asking about whether we'll breed from her when she's older. We think she'd make a great mum as she's got such a sweet gentle nature. As for what the puppies will look like...what do you think?

Scots Pine

This is one of my favourite trees. Pine represents immortality, fertility and is a purifier-it's resin when burned as incense will clear negative energies. It's smoke repels evil, sending it back to it's source. A versatile timber, it makes great furniture, buildings, toys, poles, musical instruments, household implements and fencing. Pine has a myriad of uses in herbal medicine with applications from throat and lung conditions to sciatica, eczema, psoriasis and essential oil used in massage. As a Bach flower remedy, Pine is the prescribed to people that feel they are to blame for everybody else's mistakes. At Christmas time get a potted pine and enjoy the pleasure of planting it free in the wild when the festivities are over!

Still can't find the right boat. In fact, I got bored looking so much that I think I've got the whole thing out of my system now. Strange that, if you look at some thing or concept long enough, it ceases to hold any power over you . That's my pseudo-philosophical get-out clause for having failed execrably to find a family boat that sensibly matches the carefully thought-out budget that is actually still a figment of my diseased imagination. So seduced have I been my my own self-created, sad, and transient illusions that I have lost any tentative grip on my fiscal reality and failed to face up to the fact that I'm experiencing a cash-flow problem-in short, I'm skint. Still, I've posted a nice wee photo.

A really nice wee boat

Iv'e always loved small fishing boats and yachts. Lots of people dream through car showroom windows. I prefer the salty sea breeze of harbours and the sight of colourful little boats bobbing gently up and down with their riggings clunking in time with the swell. Sometimes I will see a boat that really takes my fancy but I don't feel a sense of lack because I don't own it-I get just as much pleasure watching them moored or at sea. Maybe one day though....it's got to have a cabin..enough room for me, Lulu and kids..Oh, and a cooker, sink, fridge, loo...maybe it's not small boats I should be looking at. Dream on Gordy! {And I will!}

The above image bears an uncanny resemblance to a brain scan I had done for me recently. On opening a letter from Her Majesty's Customs and Revenue and, seeing the amount of money they were demanding, my mind had a 'fiscal seziure'. This is a little known but seriously debilitating medical condition. Common initial symptoms include disbelief, shock, sweating and shaking followed by blind panic and loss of bladder control. If left untreated by swift ingestion 100ml of 45%abv vol neat Macallan or similar, the consequences are dire. In my case, total seizure causing my large intestine to go into spasm, shooting up through my neck cavity and proceeding to strangle my brain[ The scan above captured the moment it burst into my brain-I was seeing stars and they are quite visible in the image].

I've done enough earth stuff now so it's back to space. This is another real image taken from the Hubble Space telescope {As previously mentioned, it's the most powerful telescopic instrument we currently have on our planet}. I adore this one- Going on the tendrils flying at the rear of their light bodies, these two star beings have obviously been 'high-tailing' it towards each other for 'God knows' how long! The point of impact of the cosmic kiss is going passionately purple with joy at this divine union. At least that's one angle out of millions you could conjure up in gloriously futile attempts to find words for something there really are no words for!! Drink this in brothers 'n' sisters- it's good for you to know that YOU, yes that's you, are part of this! If you're feeling low, sad or dissillusioned then come sit with Gordy a moment and just look at this and know that the same divine force that conjured up these beings, conjured up YOU TOO!! Simple things about stonework I'll miss.

This is one of the easier aspects of artistic stonework. Here I'm working a section of retaining wall and one of the final touches is to wire brush the facing stones free of any earth or mortar which brings out the natural beauty of each stone. It also means that as the wall weathers naturally, lichen and moss will establish evenly adding to the old weathered appearance. A bit of light relief after all the heavy lifting-something my back won't miss!

If I recall correctly, the only reason for this almost orderly line-up, [aside from futile exhortations of poor Luisa with camera] was the promise of fish and chips, pocket money and even more ice cream for everybody who, as you can see, was very upset at the prospect. The look of financial doom on my face has been captured in stark contrast to the fiscally mindless, carefree frivolity and totally uneccessary joy around me.

This is what happens when you want to capture a happy holiday memory. When asked to simply smile, my teenage daughters turn into grotesques-one, Zoe, grimacing at the camera like some locked ward inmate whilst the older one, Iona, seems to think the camera is hidden in Dad's shoulder. Equally dissapointing is Roddy, who has become possessed and is being restrained in a chest-lock whilst unwittingly mirroring his sister's showgirl pose. Worst of all is Father who, although facing the right way, can't look straight at the camera and looks like he's had a change of medication. Happy Holidays. {now you know for sure I need to take some fresh pics urgently!}.

I laid these stone slabs fresh in Autumn 2008, adding an inlay of mixed pebbles set in lime. Rain and sunshine since then have coloured the stone with lichen and algae resulting in an established aged feeling. Add some greenery and the effect is complete to the extent that new visitors to the Open Studio don't believe I made it-they think it was built with the house! Mother Nature takes the credit once again...typical.

it's worth bearing in mind the following tips to ensure a smooth journey:

1 The minute you let go of the past will be the minute it loses it's hold over you-don't try and leave harbour with your boat still tied to the jetty!

Well here we are in 2010 with all the Hogmanay shenanigans behind us. This is wee Lunga on New Years Eve getting ready for a party, oblivious to the hassle we'll have getting the snowballs out of her furry chest!

Anybody out there make any New Year Resolutions? It's strange that we only appear to have one sacrosanct night of the year to mark by resolving to stop being, or stop doing, things that we know already do not serve us on whatever level. Often we choose to mark this occasion with a vow to keep to our word for good. Why? Few of us keep them with any consistency and then beat ourselves up when we fall from our pedestals. Try this on waking: "Just for today, I will not judge" "Just for today, I will lay off chocolate" "Just for today, I'll abstain from alchohol" "Just for today I will not worry etc. etc. etc. Renew your resolution every day and take away the pressure of huge targets and avoid the huge guilts-It's easier taking each day as it comes! If you slip up, don't berate yourself{You are only human!!} Start the next day afresh without adding guilt and judgement to your daily goals.

Finished a stone seat recently that I think you will like and will post it when we are free of snow. We are experiencing our first white Christmas in I don't know how long. This is a little snow-capped bush in a corner of the walled Garden. It's a very beautiful and we are so lucky to be indoors warm, dry and cosy when it's -16 outside tonight. We have good food and the company of our loved ones in the warm glow of a Christmas Tree; blessed indeed.

Many, many, others tonight will not be so fortunate. This on a planet when there is more than enough to go round with a minority of powerful individuals and groups who seem to believe that success can only, indeed must only, come at the expense of others. As the churches and cathedrals are filled with drouthy revellers ready to belt out "Hark The Herald Angels Sing!" on beery breath with glassy eyes during their only visit to a holy place in a whole year-yet again. WE need to extrapolate that feeling to the rest of the year by living the message of Christ EVERY day, treating that day as if it were our last-If we all chose to be that loving then all the world could indeed become the Christ-Mass celebration every day and we could all know loving, lasting peace at last. Just think....if this WAS my last day on earth, would I behave any differently to others?

This is of course the season of Christ-Mass celebrations, family get -togethers and the exchanging of gifts. However, for many people, this is not an easy time and can represent mounting debt whilst trying to please children bombarded with media matierialism. Little of this has anything to do with the true spirit of Christ's teachings.

The giving and receiving of gifts is wonderful and is in fact in keeping with many spiritual teachings. It is the commercial control and media manipulation which has robbed this most sacred celebrations of any sanctity and wonder. The true measure of an evolved society is how it teats the least among it's members. I am not talking of poverty, division and exclusion in third world countries here-I am talking on your doorstep to you; for as long as we have one homeless person among us, one socially trapped, or excluded from opportunity, on any grounds, then we are ALL forgetting the meaning of the Christ-Mass for we are ALL ONE. Love gives every day of the year.

I would like to apologise for my long absence. I injured my sacro-ileac spine due to lifting very heavy stones. A typical healer, Gordon has difficulty healing Gordy- seen my chiropractor 2 nights ago and bent back into shape. Anyway, went for a walk with Pippy Doog (long haired dachshund-real name "Lungha"-Italian for 'long') AND saw this bracket fungi which caught my eye. I love the way it curls provocatively whilst still anchored firmly to it's host, the dead trunk of a tree. A real divine dichotomy-the living growing out of the dead- except that there is no ending to the story. I have said before that you never ever have to say 'Goodbye', only 'Hello'. Beetroot chutney:

Cooking time approx 40 min

1lb of onions, chopped

1 lb of granny smith apples or other crisp eating veriety, peeled and chopped

3 lb of cooked beetroot

1 pint spiced vinegar( I use Sarson's Malt spiced pickling vinegar or a mixture of this and cider vinegar. I always make sure I add a teaspoon of dried pickling spices if the vinegar isn't already spiced)

2 teaspoons of salt

1 lb of white sugar

- Chop the onions

- Cook the chopped onions for a short time in a little of the vinegar

- Add the rest of the ingredients ( the beetroot should be diced in very small pieces)

- Boil steadily stirring from time to time until the chutney thickens ( the vinegar will evaporate a little)

- Pour into jars

The flavours will blend and improve with age! I certainly wait at least three weeks before opening a jar...

I chose the above picture to remind me to go to Venice with Luisa who, being Italian, has been many times. She says there is no place quite like it; Well she would, wouldn't she? I'm not sure why I picked this photo. Maybe there's something about it's 'incompleteness'. One thing I see now is the strong contrast in light temperature between the sky to the right and left of the rainbow which I have to admit I didn't pick up on immediately. It's strange how the rainbow's light appears to hazily permeate around a third of the space to it's left-A bit like dawn and dusk occuring side by side!

By the time I press 'publish' I may have two images of oor wee dug on this post. The reason is quite simple-I don't know what I am doing. As you can see, Lunga is not in the slightest bit bothered either way. In fact, despite having had her ears superglued to the patio, she is not exhibiting any stress at all. Moreover, she has such trust in the universe that she knows that she will be 'unglued' on awakening because she is so loved. She shamelessly disports herself with her knickers in the air and cares not what any observer may think of her. This is because she is teaching us that, as long as we are concerned by what others think of us, we are owned by them. Only when you require no approval from outside of yourself, can you truly own yourself. Smart pup that!

This picture was taken at dusk. The beach canopy posts almost seem to frame the sunlight shimmering on the sea, reaching far out to the ocean's distant horizon. Although the photo was taken in the summer there is an autumnal feel to the light temperature conveyed in this image. Let me explain: most people on the planet seem to believe that in order to BE happy they must first DO certain things :ie 1. a demanding job in order to 2.HAVE the money to 3. buy the 'things' {house, car, holiday home, yacht, pony, stocks, shares etc} to BE 4. happy. It's called the Do, Have, Be paradigm and most folk don't seem to be very happy in it.

So, what's the solution? Simply reverse the paradigm. In other words make the simple arbitrary decision just by deciding to BE happy right now! In other words, fake it until you make it. A simple smile will take you there and, by raising your vibration, you will begin to attract what you desire with much less effort. A starter tip: drop the word 'want' from your vocabulary permanently and replace it with 'desire'. Stop trying to be 'a success' and endeavour to be 'successful' in everything you are, which is a human 'being'. The universe WILL notice that!

Drystane rubble wall

In addition to running my clinic, I am a drystane dyker {Known as a Drystone waller outside of Scotland}. I specialise in bespoke stone features for estates and gardens-follies, water features, stone seats, ornate steps, walls etc. Some of the foregoing will incorporate lime mortar but the above farm wall is stockproof and built entirely without cement, thus the term 'drystane'{drystone}. This craft goes back to the Iron age when ancient stone fortified houses known as 'Brochs' still stand today, testament to the efficiency of the techniques used back then.

Why dry? Well, they are wind and waterproof so shelter sheep and cattle and provide secure housing for birds, toads, weasels, stoats, butterflies and other insects. They reduce the loss of topsoil from 'windblow' {of crucial importance!} A drystone wall will outlast a fence by up to 15 times so is ultimately less expensive. They are nice to look at AND the energies contained in the stones make it a very therapeutic craft to practice. 'Rock on!' [Pardon the Pun-just couldn't resist it].

A while back I decided to change my lifestyle. This was triggered by a visit to a dental hygienist who asked me if I would like to have my teeth ultra-sonically cleansed. Many years of smoking, eating road kill and washing it down with red wine had taken their toll so I said yes. After various fillings crumbled and fell out during the 'cleansing' I was informed that all that was holding my jaw together was stuff called 'plaque' so we agreed to get rid of that too. Unfortunately this process exposed some nerves which triggered a huge spasm, causing my large intestine to shoot up through my neck cavity and strangle my brain. However, my brain, long used to such attack, perceived this as a dentist's tactic to numb the human brain ahead of comprehending the cost of such transient nonsense. Anyway, me got clean teef now.

Benches beside ancient gravestones

I just had a thought. Stay with me as it doesn't happen often. I thought this picture was of too little interest or too dull to post when I had a sort of epiphany {sudden enlightenment, incontinence, psychotic episode, delusion}. How often do you see park benches in cemeteries directly beside 'recent' burial sites and headstones? By recent I mean from yesterday's internment going back say 100 years or so. Would you agree not many? Say you go to visit grandpa's grave 2 weeks after his burial and you find that, whilst there is no headstone in place yet, a bench has appeared since the funeral with two tourists enjoying ice cream whilst going over their digital photos of the cemetary 'cos it's so different from the ones in their own country!? Yet when the 'sacred and sacrosanct site' gets to a certain age {ie: Anyone who knew the deceased is LONG gone} then it's ok to place a bench or even picnic right on top of their grave-- As if the departed even cared, irrespective of calendar dates!!

Lunga does impression of spin-dryer

This is Lunga {Italian for 'long'!} on emerging from a foam-flecked frolic in the Atlantic big wet thing. Being a wee long-haired dachshund she presents a wonderful sight as her head stays still whilst the rest of her goes into spin-dry mode! On completing the spin cycle, she switches to punk rock pup as she sassily struts her silky spikes up the beach past anything or anyone that will notice her-other dogs, toddlers, butterflies, wasps and bits of driftwood. She especially enjoys barking at bees and toads wherever she finds them. I do not know the reason for this phenomenon and when I quizz her about it, she yawns. She obviously knows something that I do not-like giving unconditional love to everyone she meets, having a ball just by being alive, never judging anyone, being eternally curious to learn and never worrying or holding a grudge or compaining about anything-'Oftentimes we entertain Angels unawares'.

Through the mist can you see....?

I love this scene of mist hanging like a chiffon veil over a frosty stubble field! You can almost see your breath in the chilly air and feel the soil crunch satisfyingly under your feet. What I don't recall seeing though, when the photo was taken, is a strange spherical object with a dark centre a couple of yards to the right of the tall tree pictured centre. Can you see it? It looks kind of like an eyeball. I think I can just make out the shape of a house behind it but I'm not really 100% sure.

This blog is beginning to sound like my recent eye examination!--vague stabs at the small letters, more like guesses really. Anyway, I never noticed it at first and there's probably a rational explanation anyway. I mean, there ALWAYS is, isn't there??!!

Isle of Harris, Hebrides

This picture reminds me of one of my favourite crystals, Aquamarine. It's feeling of cool blue sparkling depths resonates deeply, healing and refreshing the soul. The impression is further conveyed with the solid contrast of shore rocks, hill and distant, mysterious mountain. The foreground is softened seductively with smooth sand. You almost want to slip your shoes'n'socks off and happily pad your tootsies down to the big blue and go for a wee paddle. Breath in the clean, clear ozone whilst gazing at the view. Hold out your left hand, palm upwards, and wait for a change of energy. Once your spirit guide has clasped your hand{and they WILL!} go off together and explore. Be open to the love and wisdom they give to you and know that you are grandly loved!

Arrid Desert or 'Rocky Forest'?

Millions of years ago a glacier carved out this valley sweeping aside all these huge rocks which now make up the hillsides you can see. Over time, the winds blew in dusty soil from afar which settled in wee nooks and crannies. The trees and scrub you see were most likely borne of bird droppings containing seeds which may have become 'airborne' after being ingested some distance away. These droppings landed on the patches of dusty soil and then, ..one day,.... it rained!

When the young baby trees became big enough they were able to support some bird nests and sufficient insect life for the birds to feed their young-nature's real estate, population growth control and sustainability! [every image or first impression has a story to it no matter how dull the outward or initial appearance can sometimes be]

Coats of arms

What's in a name? Think about it. Do you get annoyed when your name is miss-spelt or incorrectly pronounced? Do you love the sound of your name or do you not like your name?
The coats of arms above serve as a reminder that our names and titles have long been held as important to us, irrespective of our social standing or origins. In olden days the first thing the newly monied did was commissioned a coat of arms, long held as a powerful symbol of social status and 'old money' in an attempt to break away from their humble roots. Many were seduced by the transient illusions of status and superiority that the bold colours and martial imagery of heraldry would bestow upon them, thus elevating them above their fellow humans.

The sad thing is that nothing has changed since the above memorial was built. The whole concept of 'better than' 'more special than' 'God's chosen' 'The one true religion' 'The ruling class' are belief systems which no longer serve us. They can and do cause wars. Why are some people so so fearful of 'losing' their illusory status that they are prepared to die just to be 'RIGHT?'

This beautiful picture was taken by a friend of mine at an Ashram [Spiritual Centre/Retreat]
In India. With it's exotic foreground complete with 'royal' peacock and stunning ornate buildings in the background, this special place exudes a richness of energy, space and tranquility. It also encapsulates an impression of timelessness and warm welcome-you just feel like you could walk in the gate and wander around, meet new people and maybe stay a while..a day, a week, a month.....or not; and that would be ok too.

Waves crashing on rocks

I took some shots from the promenade looking straight down over incoming waves and wanted to see if I could capture an explosive moment. This one, I think, came closest to that feeling. Like many of us I find the allure of the mighty ocean somewhat hypnotic and exciting in equal measure. Next time you are at the seaside try this simple breathing exercise whilst facing the waves: As the tide recedes, breath in slowly in time with the speed of the water-As the tide comes in, breath out at the speed of the wave's movement. This may take a little practice but it is well worth the effort as you will find it deeply energising and relaxing. Practised over time you will increase you vital lung capacity- most of us breath at only about one third of our true capacity!!
